Famous artiste Bhupesh Kumar Pandya, best known for his role in movies ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Hazaron Khwahishein Aisi’, ‘Delhi Crime’ among others, passed away on September 23. He is survived by his wife Chhaya Pandya and two kids.

A National School of Drama (NSD) alumni, Bhupesh was battling with lung cancer and was reportedly receiving treatment at an Ahmedabad hospital. The tragic news of Bhupesh’s demise was confirmed when the prestigious theatre training institution took to their verified Twitter handle to extend their condolences to the late actor’s family. 

The late actor, who graduated from NSD in 2001, was reportedly suffering from stage IV lung cancer and was undergoing treatment in Ahmedabad. He needed Rs 25 lakhs for the treatment, which his family had been trying to arrange by organising a fundraiser. 

Upon receiving the news of the talented star’s demise, several celebrities including Manoj Bajpayee, Gajraj Rao took to the micro-blogging site to pay their tributes and extend condolences to the bereaved family. 

Earlier, veteran actor Rajesh Tailang had sought help to raise funds for Bhupesh’s treatment.

He took to his Twitter handle and tweeted, “Our dear friend, a fantastic actor Bhupesh Kumar Pandya is fighting a hard battle with Cancer. He needs our support urgently. Please click this and do your bit. Thanks! (sic).”

In another tweet, Rajesh had tagged several of his celebrity friends from the indutsry to spread the word to raise funds. He wrote while sharing a link to the fundraiser, “Please spread the word, it will be a great support. @RichaChadha @TripathiiPankaj @_AdilHussain @soniiannup @anuragkashyap72 @Saqibsaleem.”

Actor Manoj Bajpayee had also tweeted, “Request all of you to step forward help out colleague Actor Bhupesh A Nsd graduate!!”
