
Search and rescue teams on Saturday morning resumed their hunt for a swimmer at Chatfield State Park who went missing Friday afternoon.
Divers with South Metro Fire Rescue and Colorado Parks and Wildlife returned just after 8 a.m. after suspending operations Friday night, South Metro Fire tweeted.
The person was reported missing from the park’s swim beach about 3:20 p.m., and the dive team searched water on the south end of the Catfish Flats area until about 8 p.m., according to SMFR and park officials.
The swimmer was last seen about 60 feet from the shoreline in water about 18 feet deep, Parks and Wildlife said.
Update – The SMFR Dive Team is returning to Chatfield State Park this morning. They will continue search and recovery operations for the missing person with @CPW_NE Rangers.
